Chapeau to the Olympian who I meet today at School

Biography

Sinclair started playing basketball at the age of 13 and went onto compete at the top level for twenty years winning medals at European, World and Paralympic levels.

Sinclair was part of the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball team that had to overcome more than its fair share of disappointments; they narrowly lost on a medal in Sydney in 2000, when GB were beaten by the USA in the dying seconds of the third place play-off. At the Athens Games 4 years later Great Britain lost their first two matches but recovered to claim Bronze with an impressive 82-66 win over the Netherlands in the third place play-off.

Since retiring from playing in 2007, Sinclair is now Head Coach with Wolverhampton Rhinos and was Assistant Coach to the Great Britain Basketball Team at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008, where they won bronze.

Sinclair lives in Shropshire.
