A brew from the Scottish Borders

ABV 5.5%

The law of the “Hot Trod” allowed the harried parties within 6 days of the lifting of any cattle to cross the Border without hindrance from any man, and recover their belongings back. This was Hot Trod, symbolised by the burning of peat on a spear. During these days, anyone you met, had to join the Trod or face the death penalty.

Using peated malt, Hot Trod is brewed as a dedication to all those who protected the Border hills and honoured the code. With it’s deep golden colour, smoky aromas, zesty flavour and lightly hopped aftertaste, this peated brew is a true reflection of the old Borders truce.
