  2. Lincoln brought to virtual stand still!
Lots of geezers on bikes yesterday brought up-hill Lincoln to a halt. For several hours they raced around Lincoln looking for a way out. Hundreds of the buggers and not a sat Nav between them………how irresponsible. When I asked a bemused by-stander what was going on he said “Grand Prix” Well let me tell you the size of their Lincolnshire sausage was of no interest to me! It took me a long time to get through the crowd to reach my favourite pie shop. Needless to say I am rather cross with you naughty cyclists, I might scare one the next time I take the Daytona for a blast!

  5. Sir, 10 weeks after my initial inquiry about the “cycle to work scheme” my school has failed to register as a user of this admirable initiative. Wondering if you can get the weight of FRR to push my Senior management into making a decision. Thanks in anticipation.

  6. Hi, I tried to reply to your post on the Authorsplace website but I wasn’t sure whether it worked or not. Thanks for getting in touch. Bill was a great guy who had a positive effect on everybody he met and there’s not many you can say that about. I remember him telling me once about Hughie’s training regime. When he couldn’t find anyone to prop against, he’d batter against one of those big round fenceposts for an hour or two. What a man!

I remember Norman Kerr well, and his dad Addie, from the BB at the old church hall in Queen Street. The good old days.

    All the best

    Doug Jackson

PS My brother Gordon is in Hawick Cycling Club and rattles away for seventy miles most Saturdays and Sundays much to his wife’s delight
